Midsummer Farm has been actively practicing and developing its own style of Artisanal and Sustainable Agriculture for over 7 years. Certified Organic, Midsummer Farm has always gone above and beyond the USDA organic standards, using some biodynamic practices and becoming Certified Naturally Grown in 2008. Barbara and Mark Laino are the creators and stewards of the farm, located in beautiful Warwick, NY. We relish in creating a self-sustaining and circular farm environment. Farming is practiced and appreciated as an art form. Our farm's main goal is to be both Sustainable and Artisanal.
Our farm works in cooperation with nature—our production is geared toward supporting nature—and the farm's aesthetics compliment those demonstrated by nature.
Everything we produce is grown in an atmosphere of ecological responsibility, healthiness, progressiveness, strong ethical values, and love for life and nature. And everything could not be more fresh when it gets to you – usually our products are harvested the day before or that morning!
We are also dedicated to helping empower our community to eat well and live well. We offer a variety of classes and workshops on all sorts of sustainable and artisanal Farming and Gardening topics. And we offer a wide variety of cooking and healthy eating workshops and demonstrations. Barbara is a certified Holistic Health Counselor - feel free to contact her for a free personal consultation. We also love being able to offer products from other small companies that share our ideals of ethical, sustainable, and organic production. We offer gardening as well as cooking products. Currently we are offering Vermont Compost potting soils and Neptune's Harvest Fertilizers. We also offer several of the biodynamic herbs for gardening. We also have Fairtrade Coffee, Chocolate, Tea, and other Baking products. We carry Eden Organic products and Mountain Rose Herbs. We are sure our list will continue to grow...
Cut Flowers
We offer a wide variety of cut flowers. Our cut flowers are not the run-of-mill stuff you would see in most regular florists – we find ourselves obsessing on the unusual, the dramatic, and the artistic in flower varieties and arrangements. We sell by the stem, bunch, and in various seasonal arrangements.
Herbs
We grow over 100 varieties of herbs – masses of the popular culinary herbs like parsley, basil, and cilantro, diverse clumpings of rarer and medicinal herbs for teas and salves, and stands of tall herbs for cut flower arrangements. Our herb garden is a mixture of herbal elements – it is both a colonial dooryard garden and a gourmet culinary garden – Nettles & Motherwort to Shiso & Chives.
Our products are available at our Farm Stand on Friday afternoons 3-7 pm and Saturday mornings 9 to noon, June 6th - Sept. 20th. Many of our products are also available at the Florida, NY and Goshen Farmer’s Market. We also offer a CSA.
